Why rest feels unsafe for high achievers:

Rest feels unsafe for high achievers because they learned early on that achieving brings recognition and value, so when someone is a high achiever, there's always some sort of compensation.
Where these patterns may have surfaced:
Childhood
Adolescence
Lack of self-esteem, worth, or love
Wanting to be noticed
So why does this feel unsafe?
Because to them, if they don’t keep the go, go, go mode, they failed. They have these high expectations they put on themselves. Many times they don’t realize this. In some situations, it translates to “I am worth nothing,” which could be further from the truth.
So what is a solution?
One of the many solutions is not just self-care, though that is a big part of it, but the main solution is reflection → identification → action. We can't take action or make a change if we don’t know why we're doing it.
Next, we rewire the brain. The brain is like a sponge. It can learn and relearn everything, and we can do so much if we understand how to use our strengths to improve an aspect of our lives.
If this resonated, this is the work I do in my coaching. I support people who are successful on the outside but exhausted on the inside.
Through 1:1 coaching, we work together to identify the root patterns, rewire the beliefs that keep you stuck in constant go mode, and help you create success that feels sustainable, aligned, and fulfilling.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
